Industry Rule Packs: Tailor DPP Readiness Checks to Your Products

Learn how Atlas DPP industry templates and configurable rule packs can support product validation—without treating software checks as legal certification.

A battery, textile product, electronic device and construction material do not share the same data needs. Atlas DPP industry packs provide configurable starting points for organizing checks around different product categories and reviewing gaps in a product record.

Start with a relevant industry template

The platform includes template starting points for batteries, electronics and appliances, textiles and apparel, construction products, packaging and furniture. Teams can review a template, customize a copy or create a custom pack for their product categories and internal process.

Templates are starting points, not automatically current legal interpretations. A company should confirm that a selected rule, source and product scope match the legislation that actually applies. Keep the rule owner and last review date visible so that a pack can be updated as requirements change.

Turn data expectations into reviewable checks

Rules can refer to fields such as product identity, materials, supplier counts, carbon data, repair information and evidence documents. A pack can define a requirement level and severity, and rules are evaluated when a DPP version is validated. This helps a team see missing or incomplete information in context.

Use the results to prioritize follow-up: ask a supplier for missing evidence, correct a product identifier or review an environmental value. A warning or passing check is an operational signal; it is not, by itself, proof that all statutory obligations have been met.

Keep rule packs aligned with real obligations

Assign someone to maintain each pack, link rules to their legal or policy source and review changes before applying them to production workflows. Where requirements are uncertain, label the check as an internal preparation item rather than presenting it as a binding legal rule.

This approach gives product, sustainability and compliance teams a shared way to discuss readiness while leaving legal interpretation and certification to qualified people and relevant authorities. The goal is clearer preparation: knowing what data is present, what needs attention and what still requires expert review.

  • Confirm product scope before activating an industry pack.
  • Link each compliance-related check to a current source and accountable owner.
  • Use validation to identify data gaps, not to claim automatic certification.
